PRAHAAR Movie Review

PRAHAAR: THE UNTOLD STORY OF UJWAL NIKAM: This movie released recently has a completely different storyline from Nana Patekar’s movie of the same name released in the nineties. This is a gripping courtroom drama where Nikam is the public prosecutor representing the State of Maharashtra who successfully convicts Kasab for the gruesome 26/11 terrorist attacks in Mumbai. The movie is dialogue-heavy with no songs. There are glimpses of Nikam’s personal life that shows that he is a balanced family man but this deviates from the main flow of events and somewhat slows down the proceedings. The taut screenplay and the succinct editing does not tire the audience. The performance of the protagonists is par excellence. The scope of cinematography is limited to indoor settings. Aashish Vidyarthi plays the judge and his mannerisms depict that he prejudged the verdict even before hearing the arguments. The sequence is logical and well-flowing-no wonder it is produced by Aamir Khan. It is a must-watch movie and anyone who objects to watching a documentary with no masala-OBJECTION OVERRULED!
